ClassAtHome ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform at classathome.in. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
2. Data We Collect
When you register:
- Full name
- Email address
- Mobile number
- Role (student or tutor)
When you complete your profile:
- Location, city, pincode, state
- For tutors: qualification, experience, subjects, fee, tuition mode, profile photo
- For students: classes needed, subjects, budget, tuition preference
When you make a payment:
- Plan selected, amount paid, transaction ID
- We do NOT store card numbers or banking credentials — handled by Cashfree
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account
- To display tutor profiles to students (tutors) or show your requirements to tutors (students)
- To process payments and activate premium memberships
- To send account-related emails (registration, payment confirmation, password reset)
- To improve our platform based on usage patterns
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Who We Share Your Data With
- Cashfree Payments — to process your transactions securely
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider (hosted in India/EU)
- Resend / Email service — to send transactional emails
- We do not sell your data to any third party for marketing purposes.
5. Tutor Profile Visibility
Tutor profiles (name, qualifications, subjects, location, fee) are publicly visible to all registered users. However, tutor mobile numbers and email addresses are only visible to students who have an active premium membership.
6. Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted).
- Passwords are never stored — authentication is handled via Supabase Auth.
- Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies.
- API routes are protected with JWT token verification.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies only — for authentication sessions. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect login functionality.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential communications

9. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it.
10. Children's Privacy
Our platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. If a minor is using the platform, it must be under direct parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
